The General Fund funds the Foundation's community grants awards. It also provides a financial base from which the GEF can draw when unexpected educational grant opportunities arise.
The Arts Endowment funds programming initiatives in the arts on an annual basis. The Foundation strives to award up to $10,000 annually for funding high-quality arts events.
The Granby Education Foundation has four tribute programs that allow donors to contribute in more specific ways and/or honor a community member.
- The Annual Education Tribute Program honors exemplary students, favorite educators, and appreciated community members who have made a difference in education in the town of Granby.
- Grants made from the Nannie Brown Tribute Fund support the educational needs of children ages 2 - 5, with particular emphasis on outdoor learning experiences, joyful learning and family group activities.
- Grants made from the Cal Heminway Tribute Fund support initiatives that promote, encourage and reward research projects and engagement in public service by the youth of Granby.
- In Memoriam Tributes allow you to make memorial condolences both meaningful and charitable.
Through Planned Giving, donors can provide lasting support of the Granby Education Foundation’s mission. There are a variety of ways to give such as: bequests, retirement plans, life insurance, and trusts.
The Gran-Bee, an annual trivia bee fundraiser, has become a town-wide tradition, with teams competing from local businesses, community organizations, neighborhoods, and Granby High School. Support the GEF by attending the Bee, or “Bee-ing” on a team or “Bee-ing” a sponsor!
