In Memoriam Tribute Program

Memorial donations to the GEF can be made at any time and gifts of any size are welcome. Honorees and their sponsors will be published in our annual report and on our website.

The following individuals have given In Memoriam gifts.

Nannie Brown Tribute Fund

When Nannie Brown announced her retirement from Valley Pre-School (VPS), her fellow teachers and the VPS board of directors chose to honor and thank her for all she’s done—for the school and for Granby—by establishing the Nannie Brown Tribute Fund through the Granby Education Foundation. The Nannie Brown Tribute Fund is dedicated to supporting the educational needs of children ages 2-5, particularly outdoor learning experiences and family group activities. Ideally, activities supported would encourage joyful learning. Click here for a list of individuals who have honored Nannie through a gift to the fund.

Cal Heminway Tribute Fund

The Cal Heminway Tribute Fund was established by a grateful Granby family in honor of Cal’s many years of public service. “Through the reliable stewardship of the GEF, we wish to support the creation of the Cal Heminway Tribute Fund to Promote Student Engagement in Public Service. With an initial lead gift of $5000, we invite others to join us in developing an endowment to provide grants in support of student engagement with Granby’s public and community service organizations, so that our youth will forever be exposed to and learn from the example of others, like Cal, who give tirelessly and capably to make Granby special.”

The Cal Heminway Fund will support initiatives that promote, encourage, and reward engagement in public service by the youth of Granby, contributing to their positive character and leadership development, and assuring that families in Granby will continue to benefit from its engaged and active volunteer community spirit. Donations to the fund are currently being accepted and will support the GEF’s Community Grant Program. Click here for a list of individuals who have honored Cal through a gift to the fund.
