“Bee” a Part of It! All event proceeds from sponsorships, team registration fees, concessions, and donations go to support our Community Grants program.
The Gran-Bee, an annual fundraiser for the Granby Education Foundation, has become a town-wide tradition. Each year, mud season is made a little more bearable in Granby thanks to this night of friendly competition, silly antics, and brain-teasing fun.
In the Gran-Bee, teams of three people compete in seven "swarms" (rounds) for the right to advance to the final swarm. Here, the finalists compete until all of the teams are "swatted" but one. The winning team takes home the coveted Bee trophy, along with three adult 6 month memberships to the Farmington Valley YMCA (generously donated by the YMCA each year!).
"Bee" On A Team
Each team of three adults (high school students must be juniors or seniors to play) pays a tax-deductible entry fee to compete in the Bee. Fun team themes and costumes add to the fun! You can register a team online or by mail. Click here to register.
"Bee" A Sponsor
Local businesses, organizations, and some generous individuals often sponsor the Bee or fund a team's entry fee. Business sponsors are recognized on the GEF website, in the Granby Drummer, and through signage and in the printed program distributed the evening of the event. Click here to be a sponsor.
"Bee" In The Audience
Suspense and silliness reign, making the Bee entertaining for children and adults alike. Join your friends and neighbors for an evening of laughter and competition. Bring the whole family to cheer on the teams. Admission to the Gran-Bee is free. Donations are accepted and concessions are available.
